Another great year for Cristiano Ronaldo

Five titles for Real Madrid, confirmed presence in the 2018 World Cup with Portugal, won The Best FIFA Award and his 5th Ballon d’or.. There were numerous collective and individual achievements of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2017.
Unbelievable 2017 for Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best football players ever, and even at 32 years old, the Portuguese player does not stop writing his name in football history. At the start of the season, Real Madrid’s number 7 was rested by coach Zinedine Zidane in more games than he was accustomed to, something that made Ronaldo enter the first half of the year in a sensational form, a decisive time in the 2016/17 season. The Portuguese ace was instrumental in conquering the Champions League title for the second time in a row, the Club World Cup and the La Liga, breaking a fast that lasted for 5 years. The captain of the Portuguese National Team won 5 collective titles, La Liga, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Supercup and Spanish Supercup.
Ronaldo finished this year as the 3rd top scorer in the Europe’s five top leagues, scoring 53 goals in 2017, behind Leo Messi (54) and Harry Kane (56). The year 2017 was also a year where the positional adaptation of Cristiano Ronaldo was more visible, with the Portuguese to stop playing wide on the left wing and adopting a more centre forward role, which allowed him to be more objective and more finisher. The 32-year-old has scored 10 goals from the Champions League quarter-finals until the final, against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus. In addition to being instrumental in winning La Liga, Ronaldo was also a key player for Portugal in the World Cup qualification, with an average of more than 1 goal scored per game, scoring 15 goals in 9 matches.
The start of the 2017/18 season did not match what we are used to seeing in Ronaldo, with the Real Madrid’s number 7 going through his worst start of the season in recent years, scoring his first goal in the Bernabéu, for the Spanish league, only on November 25. However, things not only are bad for the Portuguese ace, but also for Real Madrid, who sees Barcelona in a sensational form and, after the home defeat against Barcelona in another El Clásico by 0-3, the Madrid side are now with a 14 points gap behind the Catalans.
Success outside the pitch
It was a year full of collective and individual achievements for Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Portuguese also played a major role outside the four lines in 2017, especially with regard to the family. The captain of the Portuguese National Team began the year single and father of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Now, he ends 2017 with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, and with more 3 children, the twins Eva and Mateo, and Alana Martina, the couple’s only daughter.
